Down by the Salley gardens

中國古時的詩詞歌賦都似能夠被詠唱，但現在只留下了文字，樂譜音樂似大都失散。

非常喜歡愛爾蘭大詩人 葉慈（William Butler Yeats 1865-1939）的一首詩，聽說是從愛爾蘭鄉間老婦聽到記憶不全的三行歌詞 重組編作而成：



Down by the Salley Gardens （Yeats）
Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.

在楊柳園畔，我的愛人和我相見，
她移動雪白的小腳，行過楊柳園。
她叫我平心對愛情，如同葉生樹上，
但我年輕又愚蠢，不願從她的思想。
在河邊地上，我的愛人和我並站，
她把她雪白的手，擱在我斜肩上。
她叫我從容對人生，如同草生堰上，
但我年輕又愚蠢，到如今淚滿衣裳。
